Würth concludes the Training of the Trainers program

Technipreneurs Lanka completed its Training of the Trainers program to train 20 VTA trainers recently.

The program was within the frame of the Rs. 60 million Technipreneurs Lanka PPP (Public Private Partnership), co-funded by Würth Lanka and German Development Bank DEG/KfW.

Technipreneurs Lanka is a pilot project to uplift electricians, plumbers, and air condition technicians and thereby create skilled and economically independent craftsmen. The project-aim is to recognise the importance and to increase the professionalism and entrepreneurship of craftsmen

The program was conducted by Lasantha Abeywickrama and Dr. Chamara Bandara at the K-Tec Vocational Training Centre in Orugodawatta from June 25 to July 3. Certificates will be presented soon to those who successfully completed the course. Training of the Trainers is part of Technipreneurs Lanka’s sustainability plan to ensure Technipreneurs training is continued with the Vocational Training Authority of Sri Lanka after the pilot project is completed.

In September, Wurth Managing Director Rohan Amirthiah, in presence of Josef Tschoep, Head of Vocational Training at the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka (AHK Sri Lanka), presented

technical training equipment, such as tools and computer hardware to Chairman of the Vocational Training Authority (VTA), Damitha Wickramasinghe.

Amirthiah said that they planned to start the second batch soon. Josef Tschoep, on behalf of Chief Delegate of German Industry and Commerce in Sri Lanka, Andreas Hergenroether, emphasised the importance of industry-driven, practical-oriented vocational training and upskilling.
